Recently I've been commissioned for a few different projects. Most exciting is a coffee table. They want a white Gibson guitar painted on the top. They provided the black coffee table bought at a local Goodwill. Here is my picture to go by:
I am also making 2 scarves, hemming pants, fixing the straps on a bag and designing a tattoo. With all this I'll be pretty busy this week. As soon as I finish these I'll post them.
I haven't posted in a while mainly because I didn't have digital copies of my finished works. Anyway, I thought I would show you a work in progress.
This piece I started as a commission but the person ended up bailing on me so I changed the background to what I wanted. Pretty soon I plan to add the scales of the fish and finish the bubble and fish surrounding it. Hopefully soon it'll get a lot better. I love drawing and painting fish. It is on stretched canvas. It has more on the picture but you can't see it because it wouldn't fit onto the screen.
So I realized that in order to make this blog friendly and inviting I must first incorporate more than just my pieces; I must create a story, giving you updates and telling you other aspects dealing with Igloo Iguana as a business. I will show my works in progress, workspaces, and the completed works. I believe this change will help who reads this further understand the workings of Igloo Iguana and hopefully become a part of it.
What I am up to: At this moment I am waiting for my ride to pick me up from my dorm. Its move-out day, I've enjoyed this year and hope that the next will be just as wonderful.
I finally (thanks to my new camera) have some new pictures of work from this past semester. In Design 1 we had to make an ink drawing of something from nature in brown ink in the center, and black patterns that matched up with the small picture in the center on illustration board. The final project is 12" x 12". Title: Illusion Medium: India Ink on Illustration board Size: 12" x 12" Date: Fall 2008

In the same class I also created this piece made by cutting construction paper and transferring it on the other side of the Illustration board. We had to make two of these projects, one symmetrical and one asymmetrical. I have not yet been able to post the other. Title: Blame Medium: Construction paper on illustration board Size: N/A Date: Fall 2008
During my senior year of high school (07-08 school year) I created both of these prints using two different methods.
Title: Bottle Study
This print is a bottle study. Using the mono-print method I created the background (the brown and gold base) then using graphite drew on the different sections of the glass bottle. The full view of this piece can be found HERE .
Title: Two Worlds
This next print is a wood-block print. Carved out of wood the image is then printed on paper. Once on paper I waited for it to dry then used colored pencils to put the color in. The full image can be found HERE.

I went yarn shopping the other day with my mother. I found this incredible yarn by Sensations called Rainbow Boucle Multi. I bought two of the large skeins to make a small-medium sized afghan. This will take me a while to complete, I'm really excited about the way it looks. I also bought some crochet thread and started making bracelets for my friends, hopefully they will like them.
In a little over a week I start my 2nd semester of college. Some of my classes include Figure Drawing, Design 2 and other base classes. I'm pretty excited knowing I'll be getting back to art soon. Also my school is holding a T-shirt contest to help people remember to wear a condom. I know... interesting shirt, but if you went to the party school of the nation your school would be doing that too. My school pretty much only has 2 serious majors which are any art major and nursing. The submissions for the contest are due Jan 20th, I plan to enter.
